The Filmmakers
Pipe Dreams was produced, directed, shot, and edited by two Ithaca College alumns, Adam Rivera and Erin Ozmat, in their capstone senior video workshop course. They first discovered the story of the theater organ's renaissance through a news piece on National Public Radio. After researching the instrument they decided that the visual aspect of the theater organ and the spectacular movie palaces in which they reside, along with the undeniable sound of the organ, made its story one worth telling on video. With a little bit of talent, experience, and copious amounts of help from many organists and enthusiasts, the filmmakers were able to put together an entertaining and beautifully shot HD documentary that helps bring the theater organ to life.
Adam Rivera is a recent graduate of the Park School of Communications at Ithaca College, with a BS in Television-Radio and a minor in Journalism. During the production of Pipe Dreams he was the producer and co-director. Adam is currently working as a News Associate with the show Dateline at NBC News in New York City. He looks forward to expanding his experiences while working on more non-fiction productions in the near future.
